A workspace rooted in culture and community
Mąą Wákąčąk — a Ho-Chunk place name meaning Sacred Land — is the creative hub of the Little Eagle Arts Foundation (LEAF). Housed in the repurposed firehouse of the former Badger Army Ammunition Plant, the studio sits 7 miles south of Baraboo, Wisconsin on Ho-Chunk Nation land.
The studio serves as a workspace, meeting space, and pop-up gallery for LEAF roster artists. It is situated alongside the Sauk Prairie Recreation Area (Badger) and opens to visitors during special events and annual regional gatherings like the Fall Art Tour.
The studio frequently hosts pop-up gatherings and marketplaces. Because it is located on tribal land, public access requires permission — we welcome visits by appointment.
Mąą Wákąčąk is open to visitors for special events and regional events such as the Fall Art Tour.
